Behind Closed Doors: Sleepy Hollow’s Opulent Home on the Hudson
Sleepy Hollow Country Club’s Woodlea mansion—one of the last surviving Vanderbilt showpieces—has been reborn as the world’s most lavish golf clubhouse. Perched on the Hudson, the estate features three McKim, Mead & White–designed buildings (including grand stables and a maintenance hub), sprawling gardens, swanky locker rooms and even cozy overnight guest rooms.
In a GOLF.com video tour, member Brendan O’Rourke and GM Paul Brock dish on every nook—from the mansion’s Gilded Age origins to its modern golf-course twists—breaking it all into fun chapters like “Vanderbilt History,” “Lockers and Drinks” and “On Property.” It’s a peek at how old-world grandeur meets today’s golfing lifestyle.
